In 2026, Legacybox brought its two subscriptions together under one Legacybox Membership with two plans, and updated the price of each. Both plans used to be sold as separate products under different names:
Family Membership is the plan formerly called Legacybox Cloud.
Backup Membership is the plan formerly called Legacybox Backup.
If your account or past emails use the old names, the sections below still apply to you. In both cases the new price applies at your next renewal, not mid-cycle, and every member receives an email notice before their first renewal at the new rate. You can see your current plan, price, and next billing date any time in your account.
Family Membership (formerly Legacybox Cloud)
New Family Membership prices took effect on April 27, 2026, and apply to each membership at its first renewal on or after that date.
Monthly: $7.99
Annual: $79.99
Quarterly: $19.99 (no longer offered to new members; existing quarterly members keep their plan)
Because plans renew on different schedules, the timing depends on your billing frequency:
Monthly and quarterly plans: most have already renewed at the new price.
Annual plans: the new price applies at your next annual renewal, which for some members will be as late as April 2027.
Backup Membership (formerly Legacybox Backup)
Legacybox Backup was sold as a separate product for several years at several different prices, and it hasn't been sold to new customers for some time. Starting September 23, 2026, Legacybox Backup accounts become Legacybox Memberships. Your archive doesn't move and nothing is deleted. What changes is the plan you're on, and the change takes effect at your next renewal.
Which plan you move to depends on what you pay today:
If you pay $79.99 per year: your account becomes a Family Membership at $79.99 per year. Your price doesn't change, and you gain everything a Family Membership includes: viewing your memories in the app, organizing them into collections, and sharing them with family.
If you pay less than $79.99 per year: your account becomes a Backup Membership at $49.99 per year. Depending on your current rate, that may be more or less than you pay now. A Backup Membership keeps your archive stored, shows you what it contains, and lets you download all of it whenever you like. Viewing, sharing, and collections require a Family Membership, and you can upgrade any time from your account.
Your renewal date and billing frequency stay the same. You'll receive an email explaining which plan you're moving to and what it costs, a reminder about 30 days before your first renewal on the new plan, and a confirmation once the change is complete.

Email notices
Every member receives an email before their first renewal at the new rate. The email includes the new price and the renewal date it takes effect. If you haven't received one yet, your plan hasn't reached that renewal. If you've received earlier communications about your plan, the most recent notice reflects your current pricing and renewal details.
If your membership is billed through a third party such as Shop Pay, that provider may send the notice instead.
What's new with Family Membership
Legacybox is the best place to preserve, share, and relive memories with family and friends, and we're continuing to invest in making your collection more useful. A Family Membership now lets you:
Watch anywhere. Cast videos to your TV directly from your Legacybox account, or open your collection from any browser.
Connect with family and friends. Send a single link to the family group chat and let everyone comment and reminisce together.
Organize your memories into collections. Arrange your memories however you like, securely backed up so nothing is lost.
Managing your membership
You can change your plan, update billing details, or cancel at any time in your account. There's nothing you need to do to keep your membership active at the new price. Backup members can upgrade to a Family Membership from the same page, and Family members who only want their archive kept safe can move to a Backup Membership.
