Is Labeling My Items Important?
Labeling your items is very important, and it's something we take seriously. Barcodes are included with your Legacybox and are uniquely numbered, connecting each item to your order number.
Every item needs a barcode. Start in the upper left, using the top left barcode first that ends in the #1, then use the next barcode #2, and continue sequentially.
These will be scanned up to 14 items throughout the digitizing process.
What's An Item?
- 1 videotape
- 1 film reel (any size, up to 10.5 inches)
- 1 audio reel (any size, up to 10.5 inches)
- 1 audio cassette
- 1 set of 25 photo prints
- 1 set of 25 slides
- 1 set of 25 negatives
Where Do I Place The Barcodes?
It is generally best to place barcodes next to any existing labels on the tape. These labels are usually in the most visible portion of the tape. Placing barcodes next to or over any existing labels is the best way to ensure your barcode is easily seen.
Always be sure to barcode the tape or reel itself, and never the case. We prefer to receive just the tape or film reel without any exterior case.
For pictures and slides, please bundle them in groups of 25 and place them in a clear ziplock bag, and barcode the bag. Please ensure the photos/slides are loose leaf, not in any kind of album, sleeves, cases, or frames.
