Why are there blank or blue screens on the end of my home movies?Updated a day ago

When we digitize your home movies, we capture the tape from start to finish, exactly as it exists on the original.

If there is unused or blank footage at the end of a tape, that blank section is included in the digitized file. On many tapes, this blank footage appears as a solid blue screen.

This is intentional. Including the full length of the tape ensures that nothing is trimmed or lost, even if the recorded content ends before the tape itself does.

The blue screen simply indicates that the recording has ended and the remaining portion of the tape was blank.

What this means for you

    •    Your movie was digitized completely and accurately

    •    No footage was removed or cut off

    •    The blue screen does not indicate an error or missing content
