Can you convert professional videotapes, films or photos?

At this time, we do not offer conversion services for professionally shot tapes, photos or film. But we do convert almost all consumer formats of videotapes, photos, film reels, and audio. If you bought it from a big box store, odds are we can digitize it!

What film reel sizes can you transfer?

We are able to convert any size of film reel, up to 10.5". We digitize every consumer format of film created including 8mm, Super 8, and 16mm.

  • 3" Film Reel (~50')
  • 5" Film Reel (~200')
  • 7" Film Reel (~400')

Please note that we do not have the capability to transfer from film cartridges or film on a core —the film must be loaded onto a reel for us to digitize it.

Can you convert foreign or PAL tapes?

Yes, as a general rule, we can convert most PAL and SECAM consumer format tapes. The only foreign format we cannot currently convert are PAL and SECAM Betamax tapes.

Foreign tape conversions are included at no additional charge with your Legacybox, however we would ask that you please allow additional processing time for these specialty items.

If you're sending PAL or SECAM tapes in your order, be sure to mark them with a sticky note so our team knows to send them to the right department.

Can you convert undeveloped 8mm, 16mm or 15mm film?

Unfortunately at this time, we are unable to develop or digitize undeveloped film.

We would recommend searching around online. There are still many companies that can develop 8mm and 16mm film. If you have old 35mm photo film, there are even some businesses that will develop it locally, depending on your location. A quick web search, or even the Yellow Pages should give you plenty of options.

After you have your film developed, we are more than happy to digitize it for you and your loved ones to enjoy!

Can you scan old newspaper or yearbook articles?

Unfortunately, no. However, keep an eye on our website! In order to serve our customers better, we are continually updating the products and services we offer. While we may not be able to do it now, we would love to down the road!

Can you transfer my personal DVDs or mini DVDs to a digital file?

While we would love to help you duplicate, copy, or transfer your personal DVDs or mini DVDs, at this time we can only convert non-digital media.

Keep an eye on our website, though! In an effort to serve our customers better, we are always adding new features and services.

Can you convert floppy discs to digital?

Unfortunately, not. Our service is for converting analog media to a digital format. So, we are unable to transfer the data from a floppy disc to another digital format at this time.

However, keep an eye on our website! In order to serve our customers better, we are continually updating the products and services we offer. While we may not be able to do it now, we would love to down the road!
