What is digitization?

What does Legacybox have to do with digitization and what’s a Legacybox? Great questions, let’s answer them!

First let's cover digitization. It means taking old home analog media - things like pictures, tapes, and film - and turning them into digital files that you can use on new devices - computers, smartphones, and tablets.

Why does this matter? Because they're your memories. Once they're gone, they're gone. But with digital versions, they're easier to use, have a longer shelf life, and require much less upkeep than that of their analog counterparts.

Next up, how does digitization work and what’s a Legacybox? There are few ways to digitize things, but at Legacybox (that's us) we use special machines that run your old media through them, converting your memories into digital files. They're kind of like the scanners you have it home, but specially made and much larger.

Legacybox makes it incredibly easy. All you have to do is go on to legacybox.com and pick out a package based on how much stuff you need to digitize. Pricing is based on quantity and we can digitize as much or as little as you like.

We’ll then send you a special box for you to pack all of your precious memories in to. You’ll label them with barcodes, send the box back to us, and we’ll handle the rest. We’ll take amazing care of your memories when they arrive to us, safely unpack and digitized them, and then repack them and stick the box back in the mail. When you receive it, you'll get all of your original pictures, tapes, and film plus we’ll include a shiny new thumb drive or DVD.

Legacybox is the most reputable company offering this service with over a decade of experience. Our team of our nearly 200 are passionate about preserving your memories. Our 50,000 square foot production campus is located right here in the U.S. where we preserve thousands of memories every single day. Better yet, we make it simple. Just send in your Legacybox kit filled with your old media and we’ll do the rest - digitizing your memories onto DVD, thumb drive, or the cloud. It's like magic! so what are you waiting for?
